About and funding
Who makes Hortipix
Hortipix is published by Aurélien Joubert, sole trader (Tenworld Network) in La Ville-aux-Dames, near Tours, France. The project has been in testing since October 2026. Contact: contact@hortipix.com.
The project
Hortipix is an independent vegetable garden planner. It starts from a simple idea: a garden plan is more useful when you can watch it grow.
Your garden stays in your browser. The server only does what cannot happen on your device: weather, and later sync between devices.
Funding
Hortipix lives on its subscriptions, at €29 a year. No ads, no selling of data.
Links to seed sellers may come later. If they earn a commission, it will say so next to them.
How the plan is worked out
A rules engine: hardiness zones, sowing windows, good and bad companions, spacing, the time you have. The same garden and the same answers give the same plan. Crop rotation from one year to the next will come later.
No artificial intelligence runs while you use Hortipix, and Lucien picks from lines written in advance.
The drawings
The plant sprites were generated once with an AI image tool (Gemini), then cut out and brought down to an 18-colour palette. Some garden objects are drawn directly in code.
The sprites are fixed once and for all: nothing is redrawn while you garden.

Weather: MOSMIX forecasts from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD, CC BY 4.0), grouped by day; in the United States, forecasts from the National Weather Service (NWS, public domain). The source and the station’s distance are shown next to the temperature on the Plan (on phones, only when the station is far).
